About Us

The School Mum Edit was created by two mums who knew first-hand how easy it is to feel busy, stretched and yet somehow disconnected. We wanted to build the kind of community we were craving ourselves, one that brings women together to share experiences, support one another and enjoy life beyond the school run.

Our aim is simple: to create a warm, welcoming space where friendships grow naturally, conversations flow easily, and mums can take time to reconnect with themselves as well as each other.

Laura lives in Buckinghamshire with her son, husband and 2 dogs. A lover of adrenaline sports, she can often be found water skiing, skiing or horse riding! Laura comes from a background in brand creation and marketing, with a natural eye for detail and atmosphere. With a husband who travels frequently, Laura has long relied on a strong circle of female friends, reinforcing her belief that supportive friendships aren’t a luxury; they’re essential.

Carly lives in the Notswolds with her husband, former Premier League footballer Craig Short (now at Oxford United), their son and their golden retriever. She’s a lawyer, CEO of Phoenix Sport & Media Group and co-chair of the Investment Fraud Committee, and was featured in the BBC documentary The Story of the V11 for leading the V11 campaign. Most days involve switching between boardrooms, parliamentary briefings and the school run. She believes in women backing other women, and that, however full life becomes, being a mum comes first.
